Inspiration

Inspiration / 灵感, 2011 (355?), 41 cm, ink and mineral watercolor on rice paper

I got back a bunch of ink paintings, all of them round. My technique is quite 'violent' and my paintings are often torn and rumpled when sent for 'double-papering' (Or should I say mounting? In Chinese it is 裱.) My teacher said it has become my trademark, which is probably a Chinese way of saying they hate me at the mounting workshop for making their life so difficult... Anyway this one missed a piece, which (I think) makes it just more interesting :-) And leaves a nice place for a stamp. The stamp here is just 'photoshopped', I think I am going to use a smaller stamp, and maybe place it a bit more down and left?

Hi Sasa. You know I'm a little busy lately, but a minute in your blog takes me away from reality (in a good way)
I like it!
does not matter how you do your paintings
I believe that what matters is the result
I have a friend who paints with oil, and before it dries, pull the canvas on the floor and makes it stick all sorts of things and get a good result.
I believe that, we must believe a 50
percent about teacher's say :)

OK the seal ... sometimes I think that the signature distracts the viewer's eyes, I try to do it with one color, one or two higher or lower tones of the color where I put :)
kisses. I like your work of art!

A good 'eruption' of colour! I think its called 'mounting'. I have wondered what you meant before when you have mentioned ' double papering. I think stamping is a personal choice..I quite like it to stand out..You could use light( white) ink and stamp it on the darker areas so you aren't guided by the white spaces left..you could choose exactly where you wanted it to go!!! (I only suggest things as you seemed to be asking!!)
